Two firms shortlisted for Project Management Consultancy for Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has shortlisted two global consortia led by Tata Consulting Engineers and Nippon Koei to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for the construction of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor. 

Tender (Notice No. NHSRCL/CO/CA/MA-SVGC/2020/34) for providing project management consultancy (PMC) services for the 508.17 km under-construction Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor was invited on 11th November 2020. Technical bids were opened in December 2020. A total of three firms have submitted the bids.

Based on the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method, NHSRCL has shortlisted two firms that were found technically qualified. The score position of each consortium/firms is as under:-

  • Tata Consulting Engineers – Consulting Engineers Group – Aarvee Associates – PADECO Co. JV (99.25/100)
  • Nippon Koei – Oriental Consultants Global Co. – RITES consortium JV (97.25/100)

However, the third consortia comprising Engineers India, RODIC Consultants, STUP Consultants and LEA Associates South Asia was found disqualified in the technical round.

In December 2016, NHSRCL had appointed a General Consultant (GC) team comprising of Japan International Consultants for Transportation, Nippon Koei and Oriental Consultants Global. The GC team is now working to appoint a dedicated project management consultant to manage the construction work of the project.

NHSRCL has planned to open the financial bids of this contract package on 22nd March 2021.
